Although Otero County has taken the lead in maintaining the Parks in Timberon, both the County and the Timberon Water & Sanitation District share the responsibility for them.  The only developed section of the park system is the Mary Glover Memorial area, which was spearheaded by the Timberon Development Council.  Otero County has recently contracted out  a tree thinning project that covers much of the Park area.
